Redsys is part of card payment processing in bank-provided online payment integrations. The bank, processor and your store perform different roles. Understanding them helps you choose a service and trace a sale when its result does not appear where expected.
Which component does what?
| Component | What to review |
|---|---|
| Bank or acquirer | Contract, merchant terms and enabled operations |
| Payment processing | Request, response and supported operations |
| Checkout | The screen where the buyer completes payment |
| Store or application | Order, product, access and result updates |
An online payment service is distinct from the physical card terminal at a counter. A payment screen also does not replace a catalogue or order management system.
What happens during a purchase?
In a fictional example, the store creates an order and prepares its amount. The buyer reaches checkout and completes the journey. The integration checks the result and matches it to the order. The store then prepares fulfilment according to the confirmed state.
The sale should remain traceable if the customer closes the browser. Check how the server retrieves the result and what the buyer sees on returning.
What do you need to arrange?
Ask the bank which service supports your business and which operations it includes. Then check the specific platform: versions, connector, configuration and maintenance responsibility.
“The store supports Redsys” is not enough. Verify the operations you need, including refunds or renewals, and test them as part of the order journey.
What about charging each month?
Subscription management determines what is due and what happens to access. The bank payment setup also needs to support the recurring operation. Our Redsys renewal guide explains the checks without confusing processing with service management.
Reviewing an existing connection
Follow a fictional order through amount, result, record and supported test refund. Assign someone to each check. Use the test matrix to cover more than a successful purchase.
Tell us your bank and current platform if you need to review this connection.
